Life Is For Loving, and for Living!

As a pretty relentless entrepreneur, I’d like to share my top 6 tips for living a good life –

Tip #1 – Work Hard

This is just a FACT, if you want to live a good life, one where you can provide for  your family and the greater community you’re going to need to work hard. That doesn’t mean don’t work smart, or seek to use as much leverage as possible, but it’s a fact – hard work makes living a good life, that little bit more attainable in my humble opinion.

Tip #2 – Know What You’re Working For

It is true that some people are just driven to work as hard as they possibly can, and give little thought to their reasons or how their manic lifestyle fits in with a balanced and healthy family life.

And it is true that I am a driven person, but certainly not beyond the needs of my family. My family comes first, always has and always will.

I work hard to provide for my family and to create a lifestyle that we can enjoy together. When you know why you’re doing it, the path becomes a lot clearer, and it helps you to disengage at the right times so you’re not burnt out. If I wasn’t doing it for my family, I have to believe that success would be a whole lot less fulfilling.

Tip #3 – Good People

Working with good people is non-negotiable. Did you know that somewhere like two-thirds of your adult life will be spent working, and when you think about the hours that entrepreneurs put in, this just gets scary. It is essential that you create or foster a harmonious working life. Then work can become play where you have an opportunity to create great things and to produce at the highest levels.

Tip #4 – Having A Big Picture

In the same way that knowing why you’re doing what you’re doing is vitally important, so is knowing where you’re going. The minutiae and the detail of what we need to do will often be beyond our immediate understanding, but so long as you have a broad view of what you’re doing and what needs to happen you will have a good chance of reaching your goal.

Like the pioneers of old who set out to traverse and cultivate the West Coast of America, who knew that the sun rose in the East, and set in the West and so all they had to do was follow the sun, barring a few impassable rivers, and Navajo Indians, but I think you get the idea.

Once you know where you’re going, the odds are in your favour.

Tip #5 – Sharing the Fruit of Your Labour

Once you have taken care of your own family, an opportunity exists to go out in the wider world and help others. It can be as small as you want, or you can sponsor a school, but giving just feels good, and it’s the right thing to do. I understand that you have to walk before you can run, and when you have little food it can be difficult to share, and that is why it is so important for me to help others to get something going in their lives.

Tip #6 – Did Someone Say “Holidays”?

As you may be able to tell from the photos I have shared here I love my holidays, whether travelling and working with friends and colleagues or spending time with my wife and family, it is so important to smell the roses, and enjoy your life. Holidays are my reward for working hard and hitting goals and targets. If I don’t hit those goals and targets, maybe I won’t be the one buying the ice-cream.

But seriously, if you pay attention to the tips I have shared above, I think it can only help you to live a good life.
